Relationship experts explain that the reason for this may be that with years we gain confidence to stop making unwanted compromises. The research shows that 53% of respondents feel like they now know exactly what they want, and some 41% stopped worrying about what others think of them.
Despite people thinking that finding love in golden years is much harder, and that people generally let go once they reach a certain age, numbers tell a different story. Around 18% of seniors find dating and sex more exciting in their fifties.
The research confirms the growing trend of baby boomers becoming more present within the dating industry. With technology becoming more present in their lives, single seniors are joining dating platforms in statistically significant numbers.
Namely, some platforms now have singles over 55 as their main demographic when it comes to newly registered users. This is the reason all major platforms now pour money into targeting this rising demographic and answering its needs.
