Although summers are notoriously famous for bringing casual encounters into our lives, more and more singles seem to be ready to give it up for a chance to build a committed relationship. Namely, 52% of singles out there are looking for love rather than hookups this season.
Dating Group, a company that owns more than 30 dating sites, has done extensive research on the habits of daters during vacation time. The research in question brought interesting data, one of it being that 20% of respondents plan to use summer vacation to meet a love interest in person, after months of being in a pandemic online relationship.
When it comes to searching for love, daters seem to be open to almost any option. Some 30% of tourists get intimate with a local bartender, while 32% go for a roommate or someone else who’s staying in the same summer house/hotel.
More interestingly, 15% of singles try to get back together with an ex during summer. There are no details on why or how serious they are about it, i. e. If it’s a hookup or getting back together after a breakup.
Relationship experts from the Dating Group claim that the behavior patterns of daters have changed compared to previous years. The preference of staying single until summer passes is slowly giving place to the preference of finding a long-term commitment.
